Salernitana vs Torino Match Analysis & Prediction

18/09/2023 7:30 pm

Salernitana will play host to Torino at Stadio Arechi on Monday night, with two points and five places separating the two sides in the Serie A table.
While the hosts are winless in the league this season after three matches, Torino have picked up three points on one occasion.
Paulo Sousa materminded Salernitana’s Serie A survival last season after taking charge in February, even briefly delaying Napoli’s coronation as champions for the first time in 33 years at the Maradona.
However, the 2023-24 campaign has not started positively for the Granata, whose three-game winless run leaves them in 16th place in the table.
Unsurprisingly, two of their matches have been draws – 2-2 at Roma and 1-1 against Udinese – with their only defeat a 2-0 reverse at Lecce before the international break.
Sousa’s side host Torino on Monday, seeking maximum points for the first time in 2023-24, but the hosts must end a four-game winless run against the club from Turin.
As for Ivan Juric’s Torino, they halted a two-game winless run with a 1-0 victory over newly-promoted Genoa before the two-week hiatus.
Substitute Nemanja Radonjic scored a 94th-minute winning goal to beat Alberto Gilardino’s side in a rather dour game in Turin.
The four-game unbeaten run against Salernitana have seen Torino win half of those matches, but both encounters last season ended 1-1.
Goalscoring seems to be an issue for Toro in the opening three matches, with two goals in three games underscoring that challenge.
Salernitana vs. Torino Head to head
In the 14 previous meetings between these two teams, Salernitana have claimed four victories while Torino have won six, and they have drawn in four. Torino have scored 10 goals and conceded 10 in the process.
