Bayern Munich will be looking to record a victory that could secure them a place in the Women’s Super League quarter-finals when they travel to Sweden to face Rosengard Women.
While the hosts cannot progress to the quarter-finals after losing each of their four group matches, Bayern Munich are level on points with group leaders Barcelona.
After getting the better of Brann in qualifying, Rosengard have struggled to adapt to life and to the step up in quality during the group stage.
They kicked off the group campaign with a narrow 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, before they suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Barcelona on matchday two on home ground.
Rosengard were them edged out through a 1-0 scoreline by Benfica, and they once agains suffered defeat to the portuguese side last week, despite taking the lead.
Olivia Schough opened the scoring for Rosengard in the 30th minute, but a brace from Cloe Lacasse gave Benfica the half time lead before Nycole Raysla scored two minuted after the restart to seal a 3-1 victory for her side.
Although Rosengard are unable to reach the knockout rounds, they will be determined to avoid finishing the group stage without picking up a point.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are on the verge of reaching the quarter-finals after picking up nine points from their four group matches.
After beating Rosengard and Benfica in their opening two group matches, Bayern were swept aside by Barcelona, who came out on top 3-0.
However, Bayern were able to get the better of Barcelona last week, becoming the first team to defeat the Catalan giants this season, with strikes from Klara Buhl, Lina Magull and Lea Schuller securing a 3-1 victory.
Alexander Straus’ side were also triumphant as the weekend, claiming a 2-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen to secure a fourth successve win across all competitions.
Bayern know that a victory would guarantee them a place in the quarter-finals if Benfica fail to defeat Bacelona, while they would require a draw should the Portuguese side lose to the Spanish champions.
