Roma vs Bologna Match Analysis & Prediction
04/01/2022 12:00 am
Roma and Bologna will meet in Serie A on Wednesday as they each look to pick up their first win of the season following the World Cup break. Roma has won four league games, whereas Bologna claimed just two points from its last three matches.
Since joining Roma in 2021, Mourinho has been under increasing pressure to deliver a title for the club. But with the goodwill from last season’s Europa League win already wearing thin, he faces arguably his toughest challenge to date.
Roma is three points behind city rivals Lazio, in fourth place in Serie A, and have drawn their last two games without scoring. They also trail Juventus and Inter Milan—which have significantly improved since the World Cup began—by three and six points, respectively.
Bologna, meanwhile, put any realistic relegation concerns to bed with a brilliant spell of form throughout late October and November.
The former Italy midfielder replaced Sinisa Mihajlovic in I Rossoblu’s managerial dugout in September. After failing to win any of his opening four league games in charge, he has more than made amends with 12 points from a possible 15 before the domestic season was paused.
The 40-year-old will desperately hope that his team has not lost the momentum they had worked so hard to build after enduring a difficult start to the campaign.
Roma vs. Bologna Head to head
Both sides 27 games against each other with hosts taking 15 wins while visitors with four wins, and eight draws.

Bologna Team News
Bologna will travel to Napoli without striker Joshua Zirkzee, injured, while Kevin Bonifazi is unlikely to be passed fit due to a tendon issue.
Manager Roberto Mancini may look to select the same starting XI which defeated Sassuolo 3-0 in their final match before the World Cup, with former Inter forward Marko Arnautovic hoping for a goal against his former manager in the opposite dugout.
