Real Madrid Femenino vs Chelsea Women Match Analysis & Prediction
08/12/2022 11:00 pm
After claiming a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid Femenino two weeks ago, Chelsea Women will be looking to replicate that result when they face the Spanish side at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano on Thursday.
The Blues are currently at the summit of their Women’s Champions League group, while third-placed Real Madrid are level on four points with Paris Saint-Germain.
After defeating Sturm Graz, Manchester City and Rosenborg in the qualifying stages, Real Madrid kicked off the group phase with a 2-0 victory over Vllaznia.
Alberto Toril’s side followed that result with a hard-fought goalless draw with PSG, before they lost away to Chelsea in November.
That defeat to the English side leaves Los Blancos behind PSG on goal difference, while they are five points adrift of Chelsea ahead of the midweek contest.
Real Madrid returned to winning ways in their last two league matches, claiming a 5-1 victory over Alhama before beating Levante Las Planas 4-1 at the weekend.
Although they face a tough test against the Blues on Thursday, Real Madrid will feel confident that they can at least pick up a point after losing just one of their last eight home matches across all competitions.
On the other hand, Chelsea are on the verge of reaching the knockout rounds after picking up maximum points from their three group matches.
After kicking off the competition with a narrow 1-0 away victory over PSG, the English champions eased to a memorable 8-0 victory over Vllaznia.
They followed up with another positive result on matchday three, as goals from Sophie Ingle and Erin Cuthbert guided Chelsea to a 2-0 victory over Real Madrid.
Emma Hayes’ side know that if they can claim all three points on Thursday then they will secure their spot in the quarter-finals.
After beating Leicester City WFC 8-0 at the weekend to record an 11th successive victory across all competitions, the Blues will certainly be confident that they can progress to the knockout rounds with two matches to spare.
