Reading vs QPR Match Analysis & Prediction
14/01/2023 6:00 pm
Queens Park Rangers will make the trip to Reading in the Championship on Saturday. The teams are separated by one goal in the middle of the table, with 36 points.
While neither team has won either of its last two matches, QPR fared slightly better than Reading in the FA Cup over the weekend.
Reading hope to climb up the Championship table when they take on West Bromwich Albion this weekend after returning from the global break with two wins and a defeat.
Sitting in 15th place going into their three-week hiatus, the Royals beat Coventry City 1-0 and Swansea City 2-1 at home before losing 3-2 at Birmingham City.
Hoping to build on those results, Paul Ince’s side then travelled to Norwich City and left with a point, as Andy Carroll converted a penalty in the final 10 minutes at Carrow Road to see the game end at 1-1.
However, they could not find an equaliser in their latest outing away at The Hawthorns and currently sit 16th in the table with 29 points from 21 games.
Queens Park Rangers will welcome an Ipswich Town side that has also dropped down to the middle of the Championship table.
The sides have been similarly inconsistent this season, with QPR winning their first game under Neil Critchley before losing three in a row, including a 3-0 defeat at home to Luton Town and a goalless stalemate against Cardiff City.
That was followed by a 1-0 victory over Preston North End, who are now second in the Championship table.
However, QPR was forced to share the spoils with Sheffield United in their most recent outing after John Egan scored his sixth goal with a 96th-minute equalizer.
Reading vs. QPR Head to head
