RC Strasbourg vs Lens Match Analysis & Prediction
11/01/2023 11:00 pm
After beating Paris Saint-Germain on New Year’s Day, Lens will look to narrow the gap to the top spot in Ligue 1 when they take on Strasbourg on Wednesday.
Strasbourg is locked in 19th place in Ligue 1 with only one victory this season. They face off against Lens on Wednesday night in their first game since Julien Stephan was sacked as manager following a poor run of form, which has seen Le Racing accumulate just three points from their last seven outings.
After falling behind Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at Parc des Princes just before Christmas, Strasbourg was denied a share of the spoils by Kylian Mbappe’s late penalty kick and has been unable to turn things around since returning from the winter break despite several solid displays.
They then hosted Troyes at Stade de la Meinau in January but could not find the back of the net in a scoreless draw.
Lens will be brimming with confidence as they come up against the side sitting top of Ligue 1, having put together a run of form that has taken them within four points of the summit.
The Les Sang et Or suffered defeat in their opening six fixtures. Still, they have not lost again since, overcoming Montpellier, Marseille, Toulouse, Angers, and Clermont before the World Cup break.
Franck Haise’s side returned to action with a trip to Nice in mid-September, and they added another point to their tally following a goalless draw before facing Paris Saint-Germain at home in their last league outing.
RC Strasbourg vs. Lens Head to head
