Portimonense vs Santa Clara Match Analysis & Prediction

Portimonense and Santa Clara will play their second Primeira Liga game of 2023 at Estadio Municipal de Portimao, as both will be looking to get back to winning ways.
While the hosts enter the contest off the back of a 1-0 away defeat to Benfica, Santa Clara were beaten 4-0 at home by Sporting Braga last time out.
Portimonense have been on a three-game losing streak in the Primeira Liga, with the last time they were successful in the league being on November 4, when they claimed a 2-1 away victory against Gil Vicente.
Paulo Sergio’s side also partcipated in the Taca da Liga in November and December, firstly losing 2-0 at Nacional before claiming a 2-0 home victory over Sporting Covilha. They then went on to lose 3-0 to Gil Vicente on home ground.
After winning just one of their last eight Primeira Liga matches, Portimonense are sitting in 11th place after picking up 19 points from their opening 15 matches.
Santa Clara have also had their share of woes in recent occasions in cup competition and in the league, now winless in their last six matches.
Their last success in the Primeira Liga came on November 14, when they claimed a 3-1 victory over Estoril on home ground after going unbeaten in three league matches.
That victory was followed by four Taca da Liga matches in November and December, firstly losing 2-1 away at Leixoes before playing out a 1-1 draw at home against UD Oliveirense, both in Novemver.
They then went on to lose 4-3 away at Feirense on December 8 before suffering a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Arouca.
Santa Clara then lost their last game of the year, suffering a 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Gil Vicente in the Primeira Liga on December 29, before going down to Sporting Braga in their first game of the new year last time out.
