Perth Glory vs Sydney FC Match Analysis & Prediction

14/01/2023 2:30 pm
Two teams in the bottom half of the A-League table meet on Saturday as Perth Glory play host to Sydney FC at the Macedonia Park, with only goal difference separating them in the standings.
While the hosts have secured consecutive victories in their most recent games, the visitors head into the contest off the back of a defeat.
A victory over Western Sydney Wanderers was followed up by a 2-1 win against Brisbane Roar in midweek, with an own goal and a strike from Darryl Lachman securing the three points for Perth Glory.
The positive results have allowed the Glory to start moving up the league table, and they now sit with the same number of points as Sydney FC.
Another win this weekend would not only move them above their opponents, but it could take them as high as fifth depending on other results.
Despite the fact that their opponents finished the game with nine men, Sydney FC were still beaten 1-0 by Wellington Phoenix, which was made worse by the fact that they had two penalties in injury time.
Adam Le Fondre stepped up twice in a row as he saw his first shot saved by the goalkeeper, before the second ended up being sent way over the bar.
Only one other team in the division has conceded more then Steve Corica’s side this season, which is a situation they will have to address, particularly since they are just three points off the foot of the table.
