French giants Paris Saint-Germain Women will host German champions Bayern Munich Women at Stade Jean Bouin on Thursday night.
PSG suffered a disappointing defeat to Ajax in their opening Women’s Champions League group match, while Bayern had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Roma.
Jocelyn Precheur’s side were forced to navigate a qualifying tie against Manchester United after finishing runners-up in Division 1 Feminine last season.
They played out a 1-1 draw at Leigh Sports Village, before claiming a 3-1 aggregate victory in the return leg to progress to the main draw, where they have bee placed in a tough group alongside Bayern, Ajax and Roma.
With Group C expected to be highly competitive, PSG’s hopes of reaching the knockout stages suffered a setback on matchday one when the lost 2-0 away to Ajax following first-half goals from Tiny Hoekstra and Sherida Spitse.
Bayern appeared on course to beat Roma following a Jovana Damnjanovic strike and an Elena Linari own goal, but the Italian champions fought back to score in 58th and 90th minutes to ensure the spoils were shared on matchday one.
