Osasuna and Sevilla will get the 2022/23 La Liga campaign underway when they lock horns at the Estadio El Sadar on Friday night.
Osasuna managed to retain their La Liga status for the third consecutive year last season as they finished 10th, 12 points off seventh-placed Villarreal.
Los Rojillos will be looking to improve on their fortunes last season as they seek to get closer to the European spots. Moi Gomez, manu Sanchez, Aitor Fernandez and Ruben Pena have all arrived this summer to boost the side.
They made a good pre-season period, playing seven matches in total, winning their last three against Feyenoord, Burgos and Mirandes, so confidence should be high ahead of their return to competitive action on Friday night.
Meanwhile Sevilla finished fourth in La Liga last season securing the Champions League football with five points above Real Betis in fifth.
Los Nervionenses have grown in stature under Julen Lopetegui and will be looking to finish in the top four again this year, while trying to catch up with the top two this time around.
They were inconsistent in the pre-season but ended with a 1-0 win over Cadiz and will be looking to build on that as they seek a strong start to the campaign. They last defeat at Estadio El Sadar was in 2013 and with the host having failed to win their last five home matches, Sevilla should fancy their chances on Friday.
