Northampton Town vs Peterborough United Match Analysis & Prediction
09/12/2024 11:00 pm
Managerless Northampton Town will be looking to end their six-game winless league run when they host Peterborough United at the Sixfields Stadium on Monday night.
The Cobblers are languishing in 21st position, while the visitors are sitting in 15th place in the League One standings.
Northampton are currently searching for a new permanent manager after Jon Brady announced his resignation following Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat to Stevenage.
Brady had overseen a six-game winless league run since Northampton recorded their most recent league win on October 26, leaving them in the relegation zone with 18 points from as many matches.
Ian Sampson has stepped up from his role as assistant manager to take over the reins on an interim basis, and while his side may be low on confidence, they have at least enjoyed success in recent home matches, having taken seven points from their last three league games at Sixfields Stadium.
Meanwhile, Peterborough are currently sitting in 15th position and 10 points adrift of the League One playoff spots after winning six, drawing three and losing eight of their 17 matches.
The Posh have struggled to pick up points in recent weeks, having lost three of their previous four matches in League One, including defeats in their last two games against Reading and Burton Albion.
They suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Reading at the Weston Homes Stadium, before they lost 1-0 in Wednesday’s home encounter with Darren Ferguson’s former club Burton.
Northampton Town vs. Peterborough United Head to head
