Napoli will look to maintain their unbeaten campaign in Serie A when they welcome Udinese to Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for their Matchday 15 tie on Saturday evening.
Napoli have made a strong and exciting campaign so far on Serie A this season, with the side going unbeaten in their 14 games, picking up 12 victories and two draws in the process.
They currently sit at the top of Serie A, eight points in the clear of both Lazio and Milan in second and third respectively. Heading into the World Cup break, Napoli will look to round off a spectacular start to the season with a strong-statement win when a faltering Udinese come calling on Saturday.
Luciano Spalletti’s side picked up a 2-0 win over Empoli at home last time out and having not lost to Udinese in their last 13 meetings at the Diego Armando Maradona, Napoli should feel confident on Saturday.
While Napoli will be justifiably full of confidence, the same cannot be said for their visitors Udinese. The Bianconeri’s remarkable run that saw them win six games in a row has ended in spectacular fashion, with the side now failing to win any of their last six subsequent league fixtures.
They have lost once and drawn all the other five with a 1-1 at Spezia being their latest result. The run has seen Andrea Sottil’s side slide down the Serie A standings, but they are still in the top half of table with seven points above 11th-placed Salernitana.
Sottil will want his side to at least win their last fixture before the long break, but facing the league pace setters, Napoli, who they have fallen to in 12 of their last 13 meetings across all competitions, will require a lot of effort.
