Napoli vs Juventus Match Analysis & Prediction
13/01/2023 10:45 pm
In a top two contest in the Serie A, league leaders Napoli play host to second-placed Juventus at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Friday.
While the hosts enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 victory away at Sampdoria at the weekend, Juventus claimed a 1-0 home victory over Udinese on Saturday.
Napoli have enjoyed a remarkable run of form so far this season, which is the reason why they are currently sitting at the summit of the Serie A standings.
However, they were handed their first defeat of the season when they travelled to Inter Milan in their first game of 2023 and their first after the return of competitive action after the World Cup, losing 1-0 on that occasions.
Despite that, they have only lost four of their last 23 matches across all competitions, winning the rest, including their victory over Sampdoria last time out, and they will feel confident of continuing their fine form against Juventus on Friday.
Juventus also head into the contest in a strong run of form in the league this season, having won each of their last eight Serie A matches, and they are sure to pose a threat to the league leaders in this contest.
After suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on November 2, Juventus have won all but one of their last eight matches across all competitions, with a 1-1 draw against Standard Liege in a friendly on December 30 being the exception.
Juventus suffered their last Serie A defeat on October 8, losing 2-0 away at AC Milan, and they currently sit second in the league standings, seven points behind their upcoming opponents Napoli.
Napoli vs. Juventus Head to head
In the previous 56 meetings between these two sides across all competitions, Napoli have claimed 16 victories while Juventus have won 29, and they have drawn in 11. Juventus have scored 92 goals and conceded 66 in the process.
