Two teams who have secured their place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations meet in a friendly as Morocco and Burkina Faso face off at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Tuesday.
Morocco were left disappointed in their most recent game as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to South Africa in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on June 17.
However, a run of six points from their opening two qualifying matches has seen them guarantee their spot in the upcoming AFCON in January, where they will be looking to conquer the continent for just the second time.
Walid Regragui’s side head into Tuesday’s game unbeaten in their last seven friendly matches, picking up four wins and three draws since a 3-0 defeat to USA in June 2022.
Meanwhile, Burkina Faso wrapped up their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on Friday when the played out a goalless draw with Eswatini at the Stade de Marrakech.
With that result, Hubert Velud’s side have now failed to win their last three matches in the qualifiers, picking up just one point from a possible nine since kicking off the campaign with three successive victories.
However, Burkina Faso have secured their spot in Ivory Coast with 10 points from six matches as they clinched top spot in Group B, one point above second-placed Cape Verde.
