AC Monaco vs Marseille Match Analysis & Prediction

Monaco and Marseille will go head to head at the Stade Louis II on Sunday, with this being the final Ligue 1 contest before the World Cup break.
Both teams have similar records in the league so far this season, as the hosts beat Toulouse 2-0 while Marseille claimed a 1-0 victory over Lyon last weekend.
Phillipe Clement’s side have impressed and disappointed in equal measure so far this season, as electric bursts of form and poor slumps continue to come and go.
Having won three matches on the bounce in three separate occasions this season, Monaco have also lost 4-1 and 4-2 on home turf to Lens and Troyes respectively, while also conceding four to Trabzonspor and Lille away from home in more recent encounters.
However, following a 2-0 victory at Toulouse last weekend, they extended their current unbeaten run across all competitions to four matches, as they secured second spot in their Europa League group along the way.
On the other hand, Marseille have lost three of their last five matches in Ligue 1, after having gone unbeaten in their opening nine.
Les Olypmiens raced to 19 points from a possible 21 to record their best ever start to a domestic campaign, before a surprise home defeat to newly-promoted Ajaccio preceded defeats to PSG and Lens.
Slipping down to fourth in the league standings, having also dramatically crashed out of Europe last week, Igor Tudor’s side picked up a crucial three points against Lyon last time out, as Samuel Gigot guided an excellent header into the far corner.
Without a victory in their last three matches on the road across all competitions, the nine-time French champions will be looking to put some distance between themselves and their in-form hosts with a much-needed victory at Stade Louis II on Sunday.

Eric Bailly is likely to miss out for Marseille with another hamstring problem, while midfielder Pape Gueye will also be out of contention.
