Mauritius vs Angola Match Analysis & Prediction
21/11/2023 7:00 pm
The second round of fixtures in the CAF 2026 World Cup qualifiers sees Mauritius and Angola meet at the National Sports Complex Pitch 1 on Tuesday.
Neither team came away with a win from their respective opening qualifying matches last time out, and they will be eager to get back to winning ways.
Mauritius were left disappointed following a 3-0 defeat to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in Friday’s encounter at the Japoma Stadium.
Les Dodos fell behind to Bryan Mbeumo’s opener on the stroke of halftime before second-half goals from Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Frank Magri sealed the deal.
That was a second straight defeat for Fidy Rasoanaivo’s side, who are now in a dismal run of having picked up just one win in four matches across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Angola had to settle for a share of the spoils against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde when the teams met at Estadio Nacional de Cabo Verde on Thursday.
Pedro Goncalves’ side were slightly on the back foot in what was a cagey affair, which was charasterised by a lack of rhythm for large spells of the match.
As a result, the Black Sable Antelopes have now played out three draws on the bounce since their last defeat against Iran in mid-September.
Having recently kept a first clean sheet away from home in eight matches, Angola will be looking to put on a solid defensive display on the road.
Mauritius vs. Angola Head to head
In the eight previous meetings between these two teams, Mauritius have claimed two victories while Angola have won six. Angola have scored nine goals and conceded five in the process.

Having now seen his side fail to score in back-to-back matches, Rasoanaivo might be forced into making some changes to his attacking unit.
Francois Aurelien endured a largely underwhelming game in front of goal for Mauritius last time out and could be dropped to the bench on Tuesday.
