Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Analysis and Prediction

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City will look to bounce back from their below-bar defeat in Germany when the welcome Bruno Lage’s Wolverhampton Wanderers to Etihad for this weekend’s Premier League early kickoff on Saturday at 15:30.

Manchester City have made a brilliant campaign this season and currently defend their title at the top of the league with 35 points collected from their 15 matches having won 11, drawn two and lost two so far.

However, the Citizens head into the match on the back of a 2-1 defeat in Germany against RB Leipzig in their final Champions League group fixture. The defeat did not affect City’s status in Group A as they had already won the group going into the last match, but the defeat was crashing as City were on a Seven-match winning streak on the bounce across all competitions.

Therefore, there is no doubt that City will come in strong looking to bounce back from with a with in the Saturday’s clash as they aim at keeping their status at the summit of the Premier League.

Meanwhile Wolverhampton Wanderers were on a resurgent form ever since losing 2-0 to Brentford in Premier League back in September, with the club recording four wins and a draw in their following five league matches moving to the sixth spot in the standings at the time.

However, the Wolves have been inconsistent in the recent weeks as they have only managed one win their last five Premier League matches collecting two draws and two defeats in the run. The dreadful run has seen them drop the eight spot in the table with six points outside the top four and 14 behind their Saturday hosts.

Bruno Lage’s side are the latest victims to fall to a Divock Origi’s late winner last weekend with the Belgian coming off the bench to smash home Liverpool’s winner in the 94 minute, condemning Wolves to their third match without a win.

Bruno Lage’s side will be looking to bounce back but have their work cut out for them as they Man City a side that they beaten them in their last two meetings wining 4-1 at Etihad last time out.
