Man City vs Nottingham Forest Match Analysis & Prediction

Confidence-depleted champions Manchester City have a seven-game winless run to end when they welcome Nottingham Forest to Etihad on Wednesday night.
Pep Guardiola’s side could not stop the Liverpool juggernaut on Sunday, losing 2-0 to the runaway leaders, while the Tricky Trees beat Ipswich Town 1-0 to get back to winning ways.
Six is how many defeats Man City have suffered in their last seven matches following Sunday’s unsuccessful stopover at Anfield, where strikes either side of the break from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah propelled Arne Slot’s side to a richly-deserved victory.
The stumbling champions were fortnate to still be in the game at halftime – Liverpool were being their own worst enemies in the final third for the majority of the game – but the end outcome was still the same, City falling 11 points behind the Reds in the Premier League standings.
It was a far from vintage performance from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, but an early second-half penalty from Chris Wood was all that was required to overcome Ipswich, as the New Zealand hotshot drew level with Bryan Roy on a record 24 Premier League goals for Forest.
Sitting pretty in sixth lace in the table – just one point worse off than Wednesday’s hosts – Forest arrive at the Etihad with the joint third-best away record in the division this season, with their 11 points on rival turf only inferior to Liverpool’s 16 and Chelsea’s 13 after six away games.
