Lithuania vs Montenegro Match Analysis & Prediction
07/09/2023 7:00 pm
Montenegro will take on Lithuania on Thursday looking to record a victory that would catapult them back into contention in Group G.
As for the home nation, they occupy bottom place in the Euro 2024 qualificatio group, although holding the opportunity to move level on points with their next opponents.
Montenegro will feel that they can make an impact in Euro 2024 qualifying having been provided with a group where a top-two finish is achievable.
While losing at home to Serbia may prove decisive, the draw with Hungary that followed has led to a scenario where they could be level on points with the latter of those nations after Thursday’s fixtures.
If the Brave Falcons beat Lithuania and Serbia overcome Hungary in Belgrade, Montenegro would be level on points with second place as a bare minimum.
However, this remains a team that have won just once in eight matches – a 1-0 victory in Bulgaria – and manager Miodrag Radulovic knows that there is plenty of work ahead if they are to reach the Finals next summer.
Meanwhile, this represents another game where Lithuania will be attempting to end a winless run that has now lasted 13 matches.
Despite the prolonged number of matches without a win, Lithuania have not conceded more than twive in any of their last 10 games, a run lasting 15 months.
