Lincoln City vs Everton U21 Match Analysis & Prediction

Everton U21 will be looking to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the Nothern Section of the EFL Trophy when they take on Lincoln City on Tuesday.
The Toffees claimed a 2-1 victory over Mansfield Town in the round of 32, while Lincoln progressed to this stage by defeating Morecambe on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
Lincoln will head into Tuesday’s contest off the back of a goalless draw with Wycombe Wanderers in League One on Saturday, which has left them in 14th place in the table on 27 points.
Mark Kennedy’s side finished top of Group E in the Northern Section of the EFL Trophy, picking up six points from their three matches, to progress to the next round of the competition.
Lincoln played out a 1-1 draw with Morecambe in the round of 32 last time out, but won the resulting shootout 4-3 to progress to the round of 16.
The Imps were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chippendam Town at the start of November, but they have been in strong form in the EFL Trophy this season and they will now be eying a position in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Everton U21 finished top of Group A in the Northern Section, picking up six points from three matches to progress to the next round of the competition.
Paul Tait’s side faced Mansfield Town in the round of 32 on November 30 and claimed a 2-1 victory in impressive style, with the Merseyside outfit scoring twice in the final exchanges.
Indeed, the Toffees were behind until the 91st minute of the game, when Liam Higgins equalised, before Tom Cannon netted the winner in the fourth minute of added time.
Everton U21 were last in action on December 6, claiming a 7-2 victory over Colchester United U21 in the Premier League Cup.
