Levante vs Ponferradina Match Analysis & Prediction
08/12/2022 8:30 pm
Ponferradina will be looking to put an end to a poor run of form in the Segunda Division when they make a visit to Estadio Ciudad de Valencia to take on Levante on Thursday.
The hosts are currently sitting in fourth place in the league standings on 31 points through 18 matches, three points behind current leaders Las Palmas and just one ahead of sixth-placed Eibar, the last team in the playoff spots.
Levante claimed a 1-0 victory over Malaga at home in their last Segunda Division match, with Iborra scoring the only goal of the game, which has seen them extend their unbeaten run to nine – with six victories and three draws.
At Estadio Ciudad de Valencia this season, Javier Calleja’s side have recorded five wins, two draws and two defeats in nine league matches to pick up 17 points from a possible 27 on offer, and they have won three and drawn three of their last six league matches, which highlights the kind of confidence within the squad on home soil ahead of Thursday’s contest.
Meanwhile, Ponferradina head into the match off the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Burgos in their last league game at Estadio El Toralin, leaving them in 20th place in the table on 17 points, just one point adrift of the safety of 18th place.
In league matches on their travels this season, David Gallego’s side have recorded two wins, two draws and five losses, and they will need to improve on their performance ahead of this contest if they are to post a positive result and turn around their run of form in the league.
La Ponfe currently find themselves on a six-game away winless run – with two draws and four losses – with the last time they earned a victory coming back in September 18 against Albacete.
Ponferradina enter the contest having recorded one win, one draw and four defeats in their last six league matches, which is not an ideal preparation ahead of facing an in-form Levante side.

With the absence of Soldado from the squad, Iborra is likely to lead the line for the hosts.
