Serie A returns to the fold this weekend and will see Lazio take on Bologna at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday evening with kickoff at 17:00.
Lazio are coming off a chastening Coppa Italia defeat in the midweek, crashing out in the quarterfinals after the 4-0 trashing by AC Milan in San Siro Wednesday night. The defeat ended their four-match unbeaten run across all competitions including the 3-0 win over Fiorentina in their last league match with goals from duo Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile and a Cristiano Biraghi’s own goal sealing the deal for the capital club.
With now seven points claimed from their last three Serie A matches has seen them rise to the sixth, level on 39 points with the seventh-placed Roma and are now six points outside the top-four. The Biancocelesti will therefore be looking maintain their league momentum with another positive result on Saturday.
Meanwhile Bologna are coming off a disappointing 1-1 draw against a struggling Empoli in their last Serie A match at home. The draw extended their poor form at moment having now only won one of their last eight top flight matches picking up one draw while suffering six defeats in the process.
As result Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side have slipped into the 13th spot and although Mihajlovic will not be worried with a relegation scrap now, a couple of more poor results will surely leave them a dugout and thus he will desperate for the three points.
The Emilian side has however gotten better of their opponents, winning in their last two encounters as with a 5-0 aggregate and the last time they met Bologna cruised to a comfortable 3-0 and are expect to draw confidence from their as they aim at climbing closer to the top-half.
