Las Palmas vs Las Palmas Match Analysis & Prediction
14/04/2024 3:00 pm
Las Palmas will be looking to bounce back from three successive defeats when they continue their La Liga campaign at home to Sevilla at Estadio de Gran Canaria on Sunday.
The hosts are currently 12th in the table on 37 points from their 30 league matches this season, while Sevilla sit 14th, six points behind their opponents this weekend.
It has been a strong campaign for Las Palmas, who have won 10, drawn seven and lost 13 of their 30 matches to collect 37 points.
Las Palmas are 12 points ahead of the bottom three, so they have no relegation fears at this stage, while just two points separates them from ninth-placed Osasuna heading into the next set of fixtures.
Garcia Pimienta’s side are without a win in their last six matches in La Liga, losing each of their last three against Athletic Bilbao, Almeria and Barcelona without scoring.
However, Los Amarrilos have been relatively solid at home this season, picking up 22 points from 15 matches, and they will be hosting a Sevilla side who have won just three times on their travels in 2023-24.
Meanwhile, Sevilla will enter this contest off the back of a 1-0 victory over Getafe, with Sergio Ramos scoring the only goal of the game in the fifth minute.
Quique Sanchez Flores’ side are not yet out of the relegation mix, but they sit six points ahead of 18th-placed Cadiz and are just one point behind 13th-placed Alaves.
Sevilla are six points behind 12th-placed Las Palmas ahead of this match, while they are seven from Villarreal in 10th, so it will be difficult to push for a top-half position.
Los Nervionenses, who won the Europa League last season to secure Champions League football for 2023-24, will be looking to record their seventh straight La Liga victory over Las Palmas on Sunday.
Las Palmas vs. Las Palmas Head to head
In the 14 previous meetings between these two teams, Las Palmas have claimed three victories while Sevilla have won seven, and they have drawn in four. Sevilla have scored 16 goals and conceded 13 in the process.
