Las Palmas vs Real Betis Match Analysis & Prediction
26/09/2024 8:00 pm
Real Betis will be looking to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Mallorca when they make the trip to Estadio de Gran Canaria to face Las Palmas in La Liga on Thursday night.
The visitors are occupying 11th position with eight points, while Las Palmas are propping up the table after collecting two points from their six matches.
Luis Carrion has experienced a disappointing start to his first La Liga campaign as manager, having seen his Las Palmas side draw two and lose four of their opening six matches.
Las Palmas kicked off the campaign with a draw against Sevilla and a defeat to Leganes, before they produced a determined display to take a point off reigning La Liga champions Real Madrid.
However, rather than build upon the 1-1 draw against Real, Las Palmas have gone on to lose three successive matches, including a 2-1 defeat to Osasuna on Saturday.
Alberto Moleiro headed home in the 41st minute to cancel out Ante Budumir’s penalty, but Las Palmas were unable to produce a response to Aimar Oroz’s second-half effort.
Meanwhile, Real Betis will enter the contest in a downbeat mood after they conceded a stoppage-time goal to lose 2-1 in their recent encounter with Mallorca at Estadio Benito Vilamarin.
Giovani Lo Celso saw his seventh-minute opener quickly cancelled out by Dani Rodriguez, before Valery scored a 93rd-minute winner to snatch the three points and condemn Betis to their first home defeat of the season.
Having competed in three successive away matches, Manuel Pellegrini’s side will now head on their travels with hopes of ending a four-game away winless league run in La Liga.
Their first priority will be to score their first away league goal of the season, having played out a goalless draw with Alaves and lost 2-0 to Real Madrid in their opening two away games in the top flight.
Las Palmas vs. Real Betis Head to head
In the previous 20 meetings between these two teams, Las Palmas have claimed three victories while Real Betis have won 11, and they have drawn in six. Betis have scored 27 goals and conceded 13 in the process.
