Kazakhstan vs Austria Match Analysis & Prediction
14/11/2024 6:00 pm
Amid a three-way battle for promotion from League B Group 3, Austria will be looking to improve their prospects with a win on Thursday, when they face Kazakhstan in the UEFA Nations League.
Back-to-back victories have drawn Autria level with Norway and Slovenia on seven points, while their hosts are yet to win or even score.
Relegated last time around, before briefly making an impact at the Euros, Austria are now intent on making an instant return to Europe’s top tier.
Ahead of Sunday’s grand finale at home to Slovenia, Das Team can strengthen their hand even further, in pursuit of a first-placed finish that would ensure automatic entry to League – meanwhile, second place secures a playoff.
In addition to that heavy defeat when they last met, Kazakhstan are yet to beat Austria in UEFA competition, losing three of the nations’ five previous encounters without scoring a single goal.
Last month, Stanislav Cherchesov’s side followed their defeat to Austria with a 1-0 loss to Slovenia, casting them adrift of Group 3’s leading trio.
