Juventus vs Lazio Match Analysis & Prediction
13/11/2022 10:45 pm
Juventus and top-four rivals Lazio have been in fine form of late, contesting Serie A’s final fixture of 2022 on Sunday. The teams convene in Turin, separated by only two points and two places in the standings, with the hosts on a five-match winning streak in the top flight and their capital city counterparts having lost just one league game since September.
After defeating Inter in the Derby d’Italia, Juventus won four league games. On Thursday, the Bianconeri traveled to rock-bottom Verona and defeated them 1-0 thanks to a goal from Moise Kean on the hour mark.
Juventus played their third consecutive match without conceding a goal and maintained their undefeated record away from home this season. The Old Lady had not conceded a league goal since October 1st when they lost 2-1 against Milan at San Siro.
Manager Max Allegri’s insistence on playing pragmatic football is beginning to pay dividends after a rocky start to the campaign both domestically and in Europe.
Lazio has bounced back from successive defeats to Salernitana and Feyenoord by winning twice over the past few days, establishing themselves as dark horses for the Italian title.
After a morale-boosting victory in the Derby Della Capitale against Roma, Sarri’s side took the chance to claim the second spot in Serie A behind runaway leaders, Napoli.
Although they remain eight points adrift of the irrepressible front-runners, after Luka Romero’s second-half strike earned all three points against Monza on Thursday evening, Lazio travels to Turin for their final game before the World Cup sitting above not only Juventus but also Milan, Inter and arch-rivals Roma.
Juventus vs. Lazio Head to head
Both sides have 40 games against each other with the hosts taking 26 wins while the visitors with 7 wins, with 7 games ending in a draw.
