Jamaica vs Haiti Match Analysis & Prediction

13/09/2023 3:00 am

The top two Caribbean nations, according to the FIFA rankings, will meet at Independence Park in Kingston as Jamaica host Haiti in CONCACAF Nations League action on Wednesday morning.
A goal just beyond the hour mark on Saturday was enough to lift Jamaica to the top of the Group B standings with a 1-0 victory over Honduras, while Haiti could not break through the Cuban backline as they settled for a goalless draw.
It was a positive debut for Heimir Hallgrimsson and his Jamaican team, who looked dangerous going forward during their opening match against Honduras, scoring on their only targeted effort.
That result kept their unbeaten run at home in this competition intact, and that win has Jamaica in the pole position to make it beyond the Nations League group stage for the first time as they were the only Group B side to win their opening game.
They also remain unbeaten in this competition, conceding a goal or fewer in all but one of their matches since this tournament debuted in 2019 (a 2-2 draw at Mexico in March).
Haiti has their chances on matchday one but could not find the breakthrough, extending their winless run to three matches across all competitions.
La Selection Nationale are still without a victory in League A, scoring a goal or fewer in all five matches played in the top tier.
Friday was only the second time this team had failed to find the back of the net in League A, although they have earned at least a point in 10 consecutive matches in this competition.
From a technical perspective, the appointment of Gabriel Calderon Pellegrino seems to have improved their qualities in the attack, with Haiti scoring in every game played under the Argentine before Friday, although they have also conceded in four of their previous five games.
Jamaica vs. Haiti Head to head
In the 12 previous meetings between these two teams, Jamaica have claimed eight victories while Haiti have won two, and they have drawn in two. Haiti have scored eight goals and conceded 20 in the process.
