Ivory Coast vs Comoros Match Analysis & Prediction
24/03/2023 7:00 pm
Ivory Coast will face Comoros in their first encounter of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday when they meet at the Stade Bouake. The two countries have met twice since Ivory Coast’s 3-1 friendly win in June 2019, with each side winning their respective encounters.
The Elephants lost the quarter-finals to Algeria on January 27, with Aimen Mahious tucking away his extra-time penalty to send the Greens through.
Before their CHAN campaign, the West African side was on a run of consecutive friendly defeats, losing 2-1 against Burkina Faso in November 2022 — which saw their five-game unbeaten run end — before being thrashed 3-0 by Mauritania in their first outing of 2023.
The Comoros has not won in six of their most recent seven matches across all competitions.
Les Coelacantes hopes of securing a place in the 2022 Africa Nations Championship for home-based players were dashed as they suffered a 1-0 aggregate defeat at the hands of South Africa last July.
Consecutive friendly losses followed this as they were beaten 1-0 by Tunisia on September 22, barely one week before falling to a 2-1 defeat against Burkina Faso at the Stade Pere Jego.

Zerdouk has opted to call up a mix of experienced and young players for his 24-man squad, with most of the summoned players in the French division. However, all eyes will be on M’Changama as the Auxerre midfielder aims for a record-extending 55th senior appearance since his debut in October 2010.
