Istanbul Basaksehir vs Kasimpasa Match Analysis & Prediction
23/12/2024 8:00 pm
Two teams from the Marmara region will meet on Monday night, when Istanbul Basaksehir will host Kasimpasa at the Basaksehir Fatih Terim Stadyumu.
After a solid 2023-24 campaign that saw them finish fourth and secure European qualification, Basaksehir built on that success, starting the current season in blistering form, as they remained unbeaten in their first 10 matches across all competitions, winning eight of those games.
However, a Super Lig defeat to Samsunspor marked a turning point for Cagdas Atan’s side, as they failed to win in 11 of their next 12 matches, enduring a 10-game winless run across all competitions.
A three-game winning run from November 30 to December 12 provided some respite for Basaksehir, but they have now failed to win either of their last two games – a 3-1 defeat to Fenerbahce in their most recent Super Lig match followed by a 1-1 draw with Cercle Brugge in the Conference League.
After 15 Super Lig matches, Basaksehir sit in seventh position with 22 points, five points adrift of fourth-placed Eyupspor, who have played two more games at the time of writing.
A managerial change at Kasimpasa seems to have revived what had been a poor season, with Hakan Keles securing two wins and two draws from four matches across all competitions since his appointment on November 13.
A 2-0 victory over Eyupspor in their most recent league game, along with a 1-0 win over second-tier side Genclebirligi in the Turkish Cup on Thursday, followed successive league stalemates against Sivasspor and Trabzonspor.
With two wins in their last five Super Lig matches, Kasimpasa have claimed to 11th in the table with 19 points after 15 games, three points behind Basaksehir and eight off the top four.
Istanbul Basaksehir vs. Kasimpasa Head to head
