Ipswich Town vs Burnley Match Analysis & Prediction
28/01/2023 6:00 pm
Burnley will attempt to continue their remarkable season when they meet Ipswich Town in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday afternoon. The Clarets sit 18 points clear at the top of the Championship, and Ipswich occupies the third spot in League One.
While Burnley cannot be described as one of the most dominant teams in the Championship era, the Clarets are on their way to an immediate return to the Premier League.
Vincent Kompany will certainly not be getting complacent, particularly with Sheffield United continuing to challenge his side for the league title. Still, he can afford to name as strong a team as he wants, given their current cushion.
Although Ipswich Town may have preferred fewer distractions, given their efforts to earn promotion to the Championship at the end of the season, they still managed to beat Rotherham United in the previous round.
Kieran McKenna’s side is currently four points behind Sheffield Wednesday and has one fixture in hand.
That leaves beating Morecambe at Portman Road last weekend as imperative for Ipswich; luckily for them, they delivered a comprehensive 4-0 victory over one of the division’s strugglers.

Ipswich Town Team News
The announcement of a similar Ipswich XI to the one that faced Morecambe may suggest that Mick McCarthy is prepared to rest several of his key men during the second half versus Rotherham.
However, Harry Clarke is cup-tied, having already represented Stoke City in this competition, which should see Janoi Donacien return to the back three.
