Inter Milan vs Hellas Verona Match Analysis & Prediction

Having let two points slip last weekend, Inter Milan will be looking to stay in touch with the Serie A leaders by claiming victory over Hellas Verona on Saturday.
While the hosts fell 10 points adrift of top spot by conceding a stoppage-time equaliser at Monza, the visitors recorded just the second win of the season to move off the foot of the table.
Still just three points behind both Juventus and Milan, the gap to leaders Napoli is a more formidable 10, so Inter may eventually seek glory in cup competitions this season.
Retaining the Coppa Italia is likely to their best chance of lifting a trophy in the coming months, although they also remain in the hunt for a fourth continental title, as a last-16 Champions League tie with Porto still awaits.
Tuesday’s domestic cup tie with Serie B side Parma almost ended in disappointment for Inter, who only squeezed through to the quarter-finals by finally getting the better of the visitors. Parma led until the 88th minute, when Lautaro Martinez equalised, before a Francesco Acerbi header edged Simone Inzaghi’s side through in extra time.
Hellas Verona have conceded goals in each of their last 12 Serie A away matches against Inter and last kept a clean sheet against Inzaghi’s side at San Siro around 32 years ago.
Marco Zaffaroni’s current side have won only twice anywhere this season, after their second victory of the 2022-23 campaign finally arrived at home to fellow strugglers Cremonese last time out.
Verona could now win successive Serie A matches and record consecutive clean sheets for the first time in over a year. However, they have failed to stop the opposition scoring in each of their last 31 away matches, so escaping San Siro unscathed will be a tough task this weekend.
