Looking to avoid three straight defeats in the Championship, Hull City play host to Premier League-chasing Burnley at the MKM Stadium on Wednesday night.
Hull City were unable to bounce back from a sobering evening in Norwich City on October 5 as league leaders Sunderland visited the MKM Stadium on Saturday, when the Humberside club were again caught on the break, with French striker Wilson Isidor securing maximum points for the Black Cats.
After a rollercoaster start to the 2024-25 Championship campaign, Hull are currently occupying 14th place in the standings with 10 matches played, sitting six points behind Blackburn Rovers is sixth and just four points ahead of Cardiff City in the highest of the relegation spots.
Hull supporters have been given little reason for cheer while supporting their side at the MKM Stadium in 2024, with the Tigers winning just three matches at the venue in the calendar year, the most recent of those wins coming on September 28 against relegation-threatened Cardiff.
Following a frustrating share of the points with Preston North End at Turf Moor prior to the international break, Burnley got back to winning ways on Saturday in Yorkshire, where efforts either side of the interval from Jaidon Anthony and Josh Brownhill secured three points against Sheffield Wednesday.
Currently enjoying the longest unbeaten run in the Championship so far this season, the Clarets are sitting pretty in the automatic promotion spots in the league standings, a single point off early pacesetters Sunderland and two ahead of third-placed Leeds United.
