Honduras vs Grenada Match Analysis & Prediction
13/09/2023 5:00 am
Honduras will be looking to end their two-game winless run when they host Grenada at Estadio Jose de la Paz Herrera Ucles on Wednesday morning.
The hosts began their CONCACAF Nations League campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Jamaica, putting them bottom of Group B, while Grenada could not hang onto a late advantage against Suriname as both sides played out a 1-1 draw.
It was the second game in charge for Reinaldo Rueda in what is his second spell with the national team, and Honduras have not scored a single goal since he returned.
La Bicolor will fancy their chances at home, given the fact that three of their four Nations League group matches played there have ended in victories, with their only defeat coming against Curacao (2-1) at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano in June 2022.
Since their third-placed finish at the inaugural Nations League campaign, Honduras have been eliminated at the group stage in two of the last three CONCACAF tournaments, losing to Mexico in the 2021 Gold Cup quarter-finals.
Grenada were minutes away from a first-ever victory in League A of this competition, but they ultimately failed to secure maximum points and are now winless in their last seven matches across all competitions.
Their lead on matchday one lasted just two minutes, as Grenada have failed to hang onto their only two-second-half advantages in League A, playing out a 2-2 draw with El Salvador in June 2022.
Terry Connor’s side have never won a League A match when scoring in the opening half, although they are unbeaten in this competition when netting in the final 45 minutes.
Honduras vs. Grenada Head to head
