Hoffenheim will be looking to extend their winning streak to three matches in the Bundesliga when they welcome a struggling Stuttgart to PreZero Arena for the opening fixture of the Bundesliga Matchday 24 on Friday night with kickoff at 22;30.
Hoffenheim got back on track on Feb 13 when they claimed a 2-0 victory against Bielefeld in the Bundesliga ending their three-match losing streak in the league and four-match losing streak across all cross competitions.
They made two wins in two on the bounce as they claimed a 2-1 victory against Wolfsburg in their previous league fixture last Saturday. The wins have seen them move into the fifth spot where they sit level on 37 points with both Leipzig in fourth and Freiburg in the sixth.
With now three points keeping them in the top six as they sit three points above the ninth-placed Union Berlin while are just four behind third-placed Leverkusen, Hoffenheim will looking to extend their winning streak as they aim at staying in the European places while eyeing to break into the top -four in the process.
They will draw confidence from their good home form against their Friday rivals as they are unbeaten in six encounters against Stuttgart at PreZero Arena and will want to keep things this way.
Meanwhile Stuttgart are currently in poor form having just won one of their last nine matches across all competitions while have not won in any of their last eight Bundesliga matches and are coming off a 1-1 draw against Bochum in the previous league outing. They looked set to come away with maximum points in the match before Konstantinos Mavropanos gave away a last-minute penalty which was converted by Eduard Lowen.
As a result Stuttgart sit in 17th on 19 points collected from their 23 matches, six points above rock-bottom Greuther Furth and are four points away from safety and thus will be looking to reduce that gap with a win at the weekend. They will draw confidence from their back-to-back wins against their hosts including the 3-1 win in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
