Hearts vs St Mirren Match Analysis & Prediction
13/01/2023 10:45 pm
Hearts will be looking to bounce back to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership when they play host to St Mirren at Tynecastle Park on Friday.
The teams enter the contest off the back of a 1-1 draw they played out at the SMISA Stadium when they last met on January 7.
The hosts currently sit in third place in the Premiership standings after picking up 32 points from their 20 matches, 17 points behind second-placed Rangers, who have played a game more.
Hearts are now unbeaten in six successive league matches, winning three and drawing three, while scoring 13 goals and conceding seven in the process.
After ending the year with a victory after beating St Johnstone 3-2 away from home in the league on December 28, Hearts also won their first game of 2023, claiming a 3-0 home victory over Hibernian, before drawing St Mirren last time out.
Meanwhile, St Mirren head into the contest sitted in sixth place in the league standings after picking up 27 points through 19 matches, just one point above seventh-placed Hibernian, although with two games in hand.
The visitors have also gone six matches in the Premiership without defeat, but they have won just one of those while drawing the other five, scoring eight goals and conceding six in the process.
That single victory in the last six matches also represents the only success for St Mirren since the resumption of league action after the World Cup, which highlights that Stephen Robinson’s side need to find a formula to convert their draws into wins if they are to improve on their league standing.
Hearts vs. St Mirren Head to head
In the previous 45 meetings between these two sides across all competitions, Hearts have claimed 23 victories while St Mirren have won 10, and they have drawn in 12. St Mirren have scored 45 goals and conceded 72 in the process.
