Sevilla will be bidding to make it back-to-back victories in La Liga when they travel to Estadi Montilivi to take on Girona in their Matchday 17 tie on Saturday evening.
Sevilla have endured a difficult campaign so far in La Liga this season, but they seem to be finding their stride slowly recently, picking up four points from their last two league matches which have them sitting out of the relegation zone.
They picked up a 2-1 win over Getafe last time out, extending their unbeaten run to eight games across all competitions and they will be looking to maintain that momentum on Saturday.
Sevilla finished fourth last season, and will take a tremendous miracle to replicate that effort but they need to string together some wins to climb away from the relegation zone first.
Girona are one of the newcomers to spanish LaLiga, having managed to secure promotion via the play-offs last season, beating Tenerife 3-1 on aggregate. Of course, the ambitions of the club this season are clear, and there is no doubt that the Catalan team will give their best in order to keep their first division status.
They are 12th in the table with 18 collected points, three points more than Cadiz, which is the first team below the line, and considering that Girona has finished participating in the Copa del Rey, all effort and energy in the rest of the season will be invested only in the domestic championship.
