Fulham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Analysis & Prediction

24/02/2023 11:00 pm

Friday night’s Premier League action takes place at Craven Cottage this week, as Fulham welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to the capital.
The two sides were on the opposite ends of 1-0 scorelines last weekend, as the Cottagers edged past Brighton & Hove Albion, while the Wanderers went down to Bournemouth.
Dreams of European nights will become a reality if Fulham continue performing in the same vein, although Brighton, Liverpool and Brentford are all just three points behind with matches in hand, and the Cottagers will face the latter two teams either side of a game against league leaders Arsena during a fear-inducing March schedule.
However, Marco Silva’s side can always rely on their staunch backline to do the dirty work, with Fulham keeping clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League matches, and their upcoming opponents are not exactly renowned for prolific final-third play.
Meanwhile, Wolves head into Friday’s contest languishing in 15th place in the standings – three points clear of the relegation zone – and their March schedule makes for grim reading as well, as fixtures against Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are to come over the next few weeks.
However, playing on unfamiliar territory has been a pleasant experience for Wolves in recent games, losing just one of their last five away matches – against Manchester City – but the Wanderers have kept just one clean sheet on their travels in a goalless draw at Bournemouth in October.
Julen Lopetegui’s side managed to hold Fulham to a goalless draw at Molineux in August, which made if five matches without defeat for the Wanderers against the Cottagers, who have incredibly not beaten their upcoming visitors in a league game since a 5-0 thrashing in March 2012.
Fulham vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers Head to head
In the 47 previous meetings between these two teams across all competitions, Fulham have claimed 11 victories while Wolves have won 23, and they have drawn in 13. Wolves have scored 81 goals and conceded 55 in the process.

Despite being the most obvious replacement for the injured Aleksandar Mitrovic, Carlos Vinicius started on the bench at the Amex before setting up fellow substitute Solomon.
The pair will come into contention for starts over Harry Wilson and makeshift striker Bobby Decordova-reid, with Neeskens Kebano and Tom Cairney injury absentee for Friday’s game.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Team News
Former Fulham midfielder Mario Lemina is back from a one-game and ready to face his former club, but Sasa Kalajdzic, Hwang Hee-chan, Boubacar Traore and Chiquinho are still missing out.
Neither Pablo Sarabia nor Adama Traore performed too badly last weekend, so Matheus Cunha may be at the greatest risk of the axe as Daniel Podence, Diego Costa and Raul Jimenez press to return.
