Fulham vs Chelsea Match Analysis & Prediction
12/01/2023 11:00 pm
Fulham will be looking to extend their winning run in the Premier League to four matches when they play host to Chelsea at Craven Cottage on Thursday.
While the hosts claimed a 2-0 victory away at Hull City in the FA Cup last time out, the Blues suffered a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday.
Fulham are currently in 7th place on 18 points from their opening 18 matches, level on points with sixth-placed Liverpool and seven behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
Since the return of league football after the World Cup, the Cottagers have now won each of their three matches in the top flight, including a 1-0 away victory against Leicester City in their first game of 2023.
Having suffered their last league defeat on November 13, losing 2-1 at home to Manchester United, they will feel confident of continuing their recent good run of form by picking up a positive victory against Graham Potter’s side in midweek.
Meanwhile, Chelsea head into the contest sitted in 10th place in the Premier League standings, three points adrift of their upcoming opponents while they are 10 points above 17th placed West Ham United.
Victories have proven elusive for the Blues in recent occasions, winning just one of their last eight matches across all competitions, which came 2-0 at home over AFC Bournemouth on December 27.
Potter’s side opened the new year with a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on New Year’s Day, before suffering a 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge to Manchester City on January 5th, while the also suffered an FA Cup exit to the defending champions at the weekend.
Fulham vs. Chelsea Head to head
In the previous 54 meetings between these two sides across all competitions, Fulham have claimed just three victories while Chelsea have won 35, and they have drawn in 16. Chelsea have scored 93 goals and conceded 44 in the process.
