Forest Green Rovers vs Scarborough Athletic Match Analysis & Prediction
14/11/2023 10:45 pm
Forest Green Rovers will be looking to avoid an FA Cup surprise exit when they host Scarborough Athletic at The Bolt New Lawn for a first-round replay on Tuesday night.
The two sides could not be separated when they met earlier this month, with Forest Green needing a 93rd-minute equaliser through Olly Sully to prevent them from losing in North Yorkshire.
There is no getting away from the fact that it has been another tough season to date for Forest Green, with the team boasting just 13 points from 16 matches in League Two to sit 23rd in the table.
Rovers were the huge favourites to beat Scarborough Athletic earlier this month, but they actually required a late equaliser to avoid a surprise elimination in the first round.
David Horseman’s side have played twice since then, losing on penalties to Brighton & Hove Albion U21 in the EFL Trophy, before suffering a 3-0 defeat at Tranmere Rovers in the league on Saturday.
Scarborough Athletic took a 27th-minute lead in their encounter earlier this month through Alex Wiles, and they were just moments away from recording what would have been a huge result.
The Seadogs will enter this contest off the back of a 3-1 victory over Alfreton Town in the National League North on Saturday, which made it three matches unbeaten across all competitions.
Jonathan Greening’s side are unbeaten in their last six matches in the FA Cup, with all those matches taking place in this season’s competition.
Forest Green Rovers vs. Scarborough Athletic Head to head
