Flamengo vs Goias Match Analysis & Prediction

Two teams who have has a slow start to the Serie A season look to earn a much-needed three points at Estadio Jornalista Mario Filho (Maracana) on Thursday morning when Flamengo host Goias.
The hosts are currently sitting inside the bottom four in 17th place on three points after four matches, just one point behind the four teams above them in the standings.
Flamengo enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Athletico Paranaense at Arena da Baixada, their third straight defeat.
In their two previous Serie A matches on home soil this season, Jorge Sampaoli’s side have one win and one loss.
Goias suffered a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Palmeiras at Estadio de Haile Pinheiro in their last league match, leaving them in 18th place on three points, level on points with their hosts on Thursday.
Emerson Avila’s side were beaten in both of their previous league matches on their travels this season.
O Esmeraldino are looking to reverse a four-game away losing run, with the last time they did not lose away being in October 2022 against Cuiaba.
The previous Serie A match between these two sides saw them play out a 1-1 draw at Estadio de Haile Pinheiro in 2022. Diego scored for Goias in the 80th minute while Matheus Franca netted for Flamengo in the 84th minute.
