Famalicao vs Boavista Match Analysis & Prediction
04/03/2024 11:15 pm
Famalicao and Boavista will both be looking to return to winning ways in the Portuguese Primeira Liga when they meet at the Estadio Municipal 22 de Junho on Monday night.
Separated by just two points in the bottom half of the league table, this is anticipated to be a thrilling affair between the two sides as they continue their quest for a top-half finish.
In what has been a somewhat disappointing campaign, Famalicao find themselves 20 points adrift of the Europa Conference League qualification spot with just over a quarter of the season left to go.
Famalicao’s top-four dreams suffered a huge blow last Friday as they were beaten 3-2 by Arouca when the sides met at the Estadio Municipal de Arouca.
Joao Pedro Sousa’s side have now lost eight of their 22 Primeira Liga matches so far while securing six wins and eight draws to collect 26 points and sit eighth in the table, level on points with Farense, Gil Vicente and Casa Pia.
Meanwhile, Boavista were left empty-handed for a second successive match as they suffered a 4-0 defeat to Sporting Braga at the Estadio do Bessa on Monday.
Prior to that, Boavista snapped their three-game winless run through a 2-1 victory over Estoril Praia on February 10, one week before suffering a 2-1 defeat at Chaves.
While this poor run of results has seen Luis Freire’s side drop to 12th place in the Primeira Liga standings, just two points above the danger zone, they could surge into eighth position with all three points on Monday.
Famalicao vs. Boavista Head to head
In the 11 previous meetings between these two teams, Famalicao have claimed five victories while Boavista have won two, and they have drawn in four. Boavista have scored 18 goals and conceded 24 in the process.

Boavista Team News
Boavista will be without the services of Pedro Malheiro, who has been out of action since coming off with a muscle problem against Chaves on February 17.
He is joined in the club’s treatment room by Brazilian goalkeeper Cesar Butra and teenage defender Augusto Dabo, who continue their lenghty spells on the sidelines.
