Estoril Praia vs Boavista Match Analysis & Prediction

02/09/2023 9:30 pm

Estoril Praia will host Boavista at the Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota on Thursday in a match between two teams needing a pick-me-up. Both sides are separated by just one point and two places in the bottom half of the standings, so this game should make for an exciting watch.
Estoril Praia’s Taca da Liga campaign came to an end in the group stages, where they finished rock-bottom in Group H after picking up two points from their four matches.
After picking up two draws and losing one of their opening three matches, Nelson Verissimo’s men fell to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Famalicao in their group finale on December 15.
Estoril Praia now heads into Thursday’s Primeira Liga clash without a win in nine games across all competitions since October’s 1-0 victory at Gil Vicente.
Boavista, who finished top of their group in the Taca da Liga, were upset by Segunda Liga side Academico Viseu FC in the last 16.
Christophe Nduwarugira and Rafael Fonseca scored two first-half goals for the hosts before Nigerian midfielder Bruno Onyemaechi scored a consolation goal in the 96th minute.
Prior to that, Boavista had won two matches and lost one in Group F to finish on seven points. In the Primeira Liga, they are winless in six games since beating Sporting Lisbon 2-1 at home on September 17.

Boavista Team News
Martim Tavares suffered a ligament injury in the game against Vizela on October 30 and is out of contention for the trip to Estadio Antonio Coimbra da Mota.
Rodrigo Abascal registered one goal and one assist to inspire Os Axadrezados to a 3-2 victory over Estoril Praia in their most recent meeting back in February, and we expect the Uruguayan to retain his role at the heart of the defence, alongside centre-back partner Reggie Cannon.
