30/11/2024 8:30 pm
Celta Vigo will be looking to extend their unbeaten run of form across all competitions to five matches when they travel to RCDE Stadium to face Espanyol in La Liga on Saturday.
Espanyol boast a record of three wins, one draw and nine losses from their 13 league matches this season, which has left them in 19th position in the table on 10 points, just one point ahead of bottom-placed Real Valladolid.
The White and Blues are on a four-game losing run in La Liga, suffering defeats to Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Barcelona and Girona since beating Mallorca 2-1 on home soil at the start of October.
Espanyol will enter this contest off the back of a 4-1 defeat at Girona, while they suffered a 2-0 loss to Sevilla in their last game in front of their own supporters at the end of October.
Meanwhile, Celta Vigo will enter the contest off the back of a 2-2 draw with Barcelona, and is was an incredible comeback from the Sky Blues in the latter stages of their encounter with the league leaders.
Claudio Giraldez’s side were 2-0 down heading into the final exchanges, but Alfon Gonzalez halved the deficit in the 84th minute before Hugo Alvarez made it 2-2 less than two minutes later, with the points ultimately shared.
