Ebbsfleet United vs Fleetwood Town Match Analysis & Prediction
27/11/2022 5:30 pm
Nations League South outfit Ebbsfleet United will be looking to cause a major upset against Fleetwood Town in the second round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Ebbsfleet got the better of Halifax Town in the previous round to reach this stage, while Fleetwood beat Oxford City.
Having narrowly missed out on promotion to the Nations League after they were beaten by Dorking Wanderers in the playoff semi-finals last season, Ebbsfleet are hoping to go better this time around.
Dennis Kurtrieb will be looking to make history by becoming only the third manager in Ebbsfleet’s history to reach the third round or beyond of the FA Cup, having last done so when losing to Aston Villa in the 1995-96 season.
While promotion will be Kutrieb’s main priority this season, claiming a surprise victory over a team competing three divisions above them in the English footballing hierarchy could only benefit his players’ morale as well as the club’s coffers.
Meanwhile, Fleetwood will be aiming to reach the third round of the FA Cup for the fifth time in seven seasons by beating Ebbsfleet on Sunday.
However, despite being a Football Leaue team for over a decade now, the Fishermen have never advanced beyond that stage, so Scott Brown will be hoping to achieve that as head coach this season.
Brown has guided Fleetwood to sitting eight points clear of safety in League One after 19 games having been appointed during the summer, which is a decent achievement considering that they only survived through goal difference last season.
While ensuring his side’s gap to the relegation zone remains at a healthy distance will be Brown’s main aim in the coming weeks, he will be keen for his players to avoid being on the wrong side of what would be a potentially damaging defeat at Stonebrige Road.

Having had a week since their last game, Kutrieb could select the same players who were beaten by Eastbourne Borough last time out to come out and up their game here.
However, Dominic Poleon may be handed a recall to the starting XI having scored 12 goals in 18 appearances so far this season.
