The two sides have made inconsistent campaign so far in League Two this season, and are only separated by just a point in the league standings. Doncaster sit 10^th on 28 points while Walsall sit 11^th on 27 points.

The visitors Walsall have been on a raise in the league lately having now gone unbeaten in their last five matches, picking up three victories in the run – including a 2-1 win over Crawley last time out.

They followed that up with a 2-1 win over Carlisle in the FA Cup last weekend and will look to keep the momentum going on Friday as they seek to overtake their hosts in the league standings.

Doncaster, on the other hand, suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Colchester in their previous League Two fixture, ending their back-to-back victories in the tier.

They were not in action on the weekend as they were already eliminated from the FA Cup in the first round. They will now hope to have had enough rest as they seek to bounce back to winning ways in League Two on Friday night.
