12/12/2022 11:00 pm
Levante will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Segunda Division to 11 matches when they make the trip to Estadio de Mendizorroza to take on Deportivo Alaves on Monday.
The hosts are currently sitting in third place in the league standings on 34 points, just one point adrift of current league leaders Las Palmas after 19 matches.
Luis Garcia’s side enter the contest off the back of a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Tenerife in their last Segunda Division match at Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez, making it two league defeats on the bounce.
Alaves are unbeaten in Segunda Division matches at Estadio de Mendizorroza this season, having recorded six wins and three draws from their nine contest on home soil.
They are currently in the midst of a 19-game home unbeaten run – with 11 wins and eight draws – dating back to January 2016 against Huesca, which will provide confidence when playing host to Levante on Monday.
Los Blanquiazules are now set to take on Levante after which they will travel to Malaga on December 18 in the Segunda Division, before they finish their calender year with a Copa del Rey contest away at Merida on December 21.
Meanwhile, Levente played out a goalless draw with Ponferradina in their last league match at Estadio Ciudad de Valencia to extend their unbeaten run to 10, which has left them in fifth place on 32 points, three point behind leaders Las Palmas and just two behind their upcoming opponents.
In league matches away from home this season, Levante have recorded three wins, five draws and just one defeat, and they will be looking to add on to a five-game away unbeaten run – three wins and two draws – with the last time they were beaten away coming on October 1 against FC Andorra.
Levante came out on top in the previous meeting between these two teams, recording a 3-1 victory in their La Liga match against Alaves in May, and Las Granotas will be determined to record another positive result on Monday.
