Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur Match Analysis & Prediction
04/01/2023 11:00 pm
Crystal Palace will be looking to build up on their victory last time out when they play host to Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.
Patrick Vieira’s side claimed a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth last time out, while the Lilywhites suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
Entering the New Year with the aim of boosting their top-half credentials, Crystal Palace sit in 11th place in the table and are just two points adrift of Brighton & Hove Albion in 10th spot.
Defeat to Fulham prevented the Eagles from putting together a four-game Premier League winning streak at Selhurst Park, which has proven to literally be a sticky patch for visiting teams in recent months, unless they are sides from the capital.
Palace’s three defeats on home ground this season have all come to London rivals in Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham, and they were also held to a 1-1 draw by capital conterparts Brentford at the end of August, but few Tottenham fans will make the short journey brimming with confidence.
Antonio Conte openly admitted that fifth place may be the peak for Tottenham after they produced a toothless attacking performance against Aston Villa, who deservedly left North London with all three points.
The Lilywhites has all the motivation they needed to get the job done after losing their grip on fourth place to Manchester United, but Tottenham remain outside of the Champions League spots having played a game more than the Red Devils, who are currently two points clear.
Crystal Palace vs. Tottenham Hotspur Head to head

Crystal Palace centre-back James Tomkins was one of two players sent off against Fulham, but he will be available for selection again after completing his one-game suspension.
Left-back Tyrick Mitchell still has a couple of banned matches to serve after his straight red card against the Cottagers, so Joel Ward should continue to deputise.
