Cambridge United vs Bolton Wanderers Match Analysis & Prediction
20/02/2024 10:45 pm
Cambridge United will be looking to secure a second straight League One victory when they play host to Bolton Wanderers at the Cledara Abbey Stadium on Tuesday night.
Cambridge bounced back from back-to-back defeats to record a commanding 4-0 victory over Carlisle United on Saturday.
That comprehensive victory moved Cambridge into 16th position in the League One standings, extending the gap to the bottom four to six points with 15 matches remaining.
The U’s will return to the Abbey Stadium, where they have experienced a period of inconsistent result, having won one, drawn one and lost two of their last four home league matches.
Having scored just 15 goals in their 16 home league matches, Cambridge will have their work cut out to trouble a Bolton side that has conceded just five goals across their previous nine away games in League One.
Although Ian Evatt’s side have been resolute on their travels, they let in three goals in Saturday’s home 3-3 draw against Charlton Athletic.
While Bolton have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times, they will be frustrated with the fact that they have drawn three of their previous four matches in League One.
As a result, the Trotters are currently sitting in third position and three points adrift of second-placed Derby County, who have played two games more than Bolton.
Cambridge United vs. Bolton Wanderers Head to head
In the six previous meetings between these two teams, Cambridge have claimed one victory while Bolton have won two, and they have drawn in three. Bolton have scored six goals and conceded four in the process.
