The two nations will renew familiarity with one another after facing off in the group stage four years ago, when the Selecao claimed a 2-0 victory.

Brazil have arrived in Qatar as the only nation in World Cup history to have qualified for every tournament since the first edition back in 1930 following a record-breaking CONMEBOL qualification campaign.

They rarely struggle in qualifying and have had few issues in the group stage over the years as well, as they are unbeaten in their last 15 World Cup group matches since losing 2-1 to Norway back in 1998.

The narrow 1-0 defeat to Norway in June is one of just two losses suffered in their last 16 international matches across all competitions, and form on European soil has also been impressive.
