24/01/2023 10:45 pm
Following a defeat to Derby County on Saturday, Bolton Wanderers will be looking to bounce back when they host Forest Green Rovers at the University of Bolton Stadium on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the visitors will be aiming to end their poor run of form after failing to win any of their last seven matches across all competitions.
Bolton saw their eight-game unbeaten run across all competitions come to an end through a 2-1 away defeat to fellow playoff side Derby County on Saturday.
Ian Evatt’s side remain in fifth place following the narrow defeat, six points clear of seventh-placed Peterborough, althouth they have played two games more then Posh.
Despite suffering defeat on Saturday, Bolton still have an unbeaten home run to defend after winning five and drawing three of their previous eight home matches across all competitions.
Impressively, no side in League One have conceded fewer home goals than Bolton, who have only let in eight goals in 14 league matches at the University of Bolton Stadium this season.
While the hosts occupy the playoff spots, Forest Green are currently at the bottom of the League One table with just 21 points from 27 matches.
After being eliminated from the FA Cup through a 2-1 defeat to Championship side Birmingham City, Forest Green were on the wrong side of the same scoreline again on Saturday, being beaten by MK Dons.
With Ian Burchnall’s side four points adrift of safety, hopes of closing that gap on Tuesday will not be boosted by a run of 12 away league matches without a victory.
While Forest Green have not won an away league game since the opening weekend of the season, they may take some inspiration from the 1-0 victory they recorded in their home meeting with Bolton on October.
